The Pigeons of NYC

Illustration

The Pigeons of NYC exist in the space between feeling joy and feeling Blue

The Pigeons of NYC is a set of illustrations inspired by Joni Mitchell’s Blue Album. The project assignment was a part of Integrated Design Studio 2 during a unit on place observation and persona design. I was walking through Madison Square Park and saw a giant pigeon and immediately heard “My Old Man, he’s a singer in the Park.” The rest of the pigeons, each inspired by one of Joni’s songs, followed shortly. The Pigeons are quick, light, and full of joy to combat some of those New York City blues.
